dedication

went to fnac today...after indulgently buying gifts for myself (ayu...what's the point of beli bebende mahal kalo tak dapat rase macam dpt present walaupun utk diri sendiri??)

grabbing at least 6 books i shuffle around the crowded 2nd floor of fnac trying to find a convenient space to sit and read...it's school holidays! why is there so many people?
you might pity me the loneliness of walking around alone and reading in a bookstore. truth. I LOVE IT. i have spent countless hours in airport bookstores, mph midvalley and fnac reading.

i discarded all 5 books as worthless...sue townsend langsung tak funny k. and mitch albom! what happened to you??

the 6th had potential : dedication by emma mclaughin and nicola krauss (of the nanny diaries acclaim)

"what if your first love left town, without a word to anyone, days before graduation? What if he went on to become one of the biggest recording artist in the planet and every song he's famous for is about you? What if, after 13 years of getting on with your life- walking past his face on newstands, flipping past his image on tv, tuning out his songs on the radio- he landed on your hometown two days before Christmas, what would you do? For Kate Hollis, embracing life as a full-fledged, well-adjusted adult is to re-visit seventeen."

Mcam best kan? But sadly it was kinda disappointing. Mainly cause, other than all the chemistry, i just don't GET why she would be hung up on this guy for 13 years.
Which is why in the end she wised up and left him.
Kinda...not exactly what i was expecting. Just goes to show...sometimes life plays tricks on you. You have all the lightnings, coup de foudre, sweaty palms, passionate longing just...could be illusions.

Because, men (man-hater that i am) have the confusing ability to be dastardly sweet, turn you into puddles, make you think they can't live without you, make puppy, tortured, wounded eyes and at the very next breath be the very essence of evil who can't be bothered with the small gestures.

(okay....venting a little. not everything is about beb.)
