the irreversible

lately, for some reason, the unlikeliest people have been asking me when i'm getting married. orang kata, hanya orang dah kawin tanya soalan mcm ni. but noooooo, the ones who ask are those committed bachelors, the ones yang sumpah tak nak kawin until they're like 35.

maybe they're like. damn, gf pressure nak kawin. how come syikin tak cuak pon? she's a girl. she's freaking 26!!!! yeah. so?

this isn't an awkward question for me. i tak kesah pon orang nak tanye. honestly, i don't really see the luster in marriage. i hope then when i do, i'll be all......."this is awesome! why didn't i want this sooner??" but for the moment, not freaking out.

what do i want for the future? this is apparently the moment when you start thinking about what you want, and planning your life around them. except, i'm still totally a flake. i still have very vague pictures for the future.

oh mannnn....this post bores me to tears. there's more to life than all of this. honestly, the thought of planning which colour schemes and what flowers and lace or satin fills me with dread.

i have a good job. a role that doesn't require that i work until 10pm every night.

i love my boyfriend. and even though he's a workaholic, he takes time to talk to me when i'm miserable and lonely.

my family is well and despite all the cubaan thrown our way, things have worked out for the best.

i have good friends. who put up with me and my housemate hasn't thrown me out yet.

i have a lot to be thankful for.

ape ni nak komplen2 nak macam2? you have to work hard for what you want. whatever it is, success at work, personal life. things will come in time. the desire to to do the next thing on the list will come in time.

when everyone's ready. when it feels right.
