stop poking me

"you HAVE to join facebook. it's kow cool-you'll forget friendster ever existed", david tells me sometime last summer.

i was bored. and friendster was getting kinda superficial. so now  i am suddenly flooded with various requests and invitations-warewolf,vampires, slayer, hot requests....
i have no idea what else. it's a little overwhelming...
true, i did go a little crazy with the applications at first. now it scares me.

anyway, that's not my point. friendster and facebook are great networking things. problem is, our friendship is starting to take up too much of my time. i actually know more about you
than i do about people i actually hang out with.

Although, actually i know what you want me to know.
See, on my profile i show my best photos, i put the books i want people to think i'm reading.
it's not my actual flawed self. so really, you don't know me.

since i'm currently boycotting facebook-let's talk about friendster.
i think the sole reason it exist is so that we can have a whole teenage drama, gossip girl episode.
come on, you've never stalked people on friendster?
never checked if that girl you hated in high school is miserable?
or if your ex has totally moved on with whichever girl (and then check out her blog to see whether they're happy together)?
gone psycho by checking out every girl who's ever given your boyfriend a testimonial?

and then we'll think we know their life stories. seriously, don't you think our generation's become too transparent (well, since this is a blog and you're reading it...i'm included).
we have to broadcast every single personal detail publicly.
like posting a shoutout announcing that you're having a fight with your bf.
again, it's not necessarily a criticism...merely an observation.

it's a superficial world we're in isn't it?
i'm observing this absurdity while passively participating.
okay, sometimes actively.

again, i blame grey's anatomy. it's very probably making me stupid.
(haha...sbab hari tu i was talking to david and i said i was watching grey's. he said  "ish, tak jadi bodoh ke?"....klaka)
