what always happens? life.

500 days of summer

An offbeat romantic comedy about a woman (Deschanel) who doesn't believe true love exists, and the young man (Gordon-Levitt) who falls for her.

it's sunday and i don't have much to do (barring the whole stage thing that i've decided to ignore) so i end up watching trailers.

500 days of summer looks like such a delightful movie. plus, i'm beginning to think that love, as advertised by shakespeare, mills and boon and disney don't really exist. i'm tired of movies where it's always the girls who end up neurotic and needy and crying.

let's tell it like it is. you meet someone cute and you're totally blown away by how similar your taste in music is or how they totally get you *cue amazed wide eyed, stare across the table*. lightnings, chemistry and sok tien ensues. Next, the predictable happens : romantic walks by the beach, dancing in the moonlight, love in technicolor. a year later, you realise that 400 things about his personality drives you crazy and he contemplates murdering you in your sleep for making him miss a football game.

after months of ugly arguments and broken plates you break up and move on to the next person.

**i'm just being metaphorical, none of this really happened to me tau

so is all the disappointments, the waiting by the phone, months of crying yourself to sleep, of heartache and zombie-like behaviour worth a single moment (or maybe several) of 'love'?

absolutely.

and like orang yang tak faham2 you keep trying and repeating this crazy cycle.
