g.i joe review

it's very possible i have absolutely no taste in movies. is it because i don't like woody allen movies? and seeing how pulp fiction is not the my top 10 favourite movie does that automaticlally make me a movie philistine? because i am not getting what all these horror reviews for toy movies are about:

at 16h30 yesterday beb was in the metro cutting it a little too close for a movie that was supposed to start at 17h. and i'm desperately hoping caroline would leave so that i could high tail outta there. so then i literally ran in heels across la defense parvis in heels (it's those annoying little stones pavement, d'you know how hard that is?) to buy tickets.

i'm thinking, gi joe the movie is a lot like the cartoon. and strangely jiwang. of course the effects are over the top. and you see people bouncing up and down paris traffic like rubber balls and hot girl on a bike with no protection whatsoever getting scrammed by cars no scratch. and sienna miller can attack secret military bases in 5 inch stilettos. best line? while she's terrorising an entire building and yelling at a woman to get the hell out of her way, "nice shoes."

ninja dudes were cool. dennis quaid was completely forgettable and corny. channing tatum....strangely not that hot in the movie.

toy movie rating : better than wolverine, worse that transformers. but otherwise, a perfectly acceptable summer movie.
