I’m at the gare now, waiting for the train to go to Limoges for my soutenance. Been a while since I took the train alone.

Travelling in france = trains (mostly). I’m a big fan of ryanair but I hate the hassle of having to come early to the airport, tak bole pack liquids, having to take off everything at security check. Most people in the sud biasenye tak kuar sud sgt so they don’t really take trains. But even before I went to Limoges I gatal pulak nak bercouple ngan org duduk jauh.

SNCF. Good memories, bad memories sume ade.

Like playing chor tai ti for 5 hours straight in the train with Jun and Beb on the way back from Beauvais.

Or kene marah ngan conducteur italien on the way to Rome sebab tuka² tempat dlm train.

Duduk sebelah org tua yang bau cheese. Like really old, smelly, montagne cheese.

I remember mase baru couple Beb used to make the 6 hour Toulouse-Antibes trip almost every weekend. Kalo naik train pegi Toulouse bile dah sampai Montauban rase nervous sbb nak jumpe boipren. Mase sayang hantar pegi gare, tunggu kat bus station, paling tak pun tunggu depan rumah pegang ferrero rocher and coke. Mase dah menyampah duduk je kat couch “Balik dah? Have a good trip.” Ouch, dua² pon pernah buat.

I remember crying on a train. Macam teresak² selama 3 jam while mamat sebelah aku tu buat² tak tgk.

Something about the smell of trains will make me think of all this. Coming and going, starting and leaving.

Of course, tak bole lupe semua galère yg pernah dilalui sebab TRAIN STATIONS IN FRANCE TAK RETI BUAT ESCALATOR. Like mase nak pindah rumah bawak barang mcm penjual souvenir kat sacré Coeur.

Pastu SNCF suke nak grève. Sampai nak pegi limoges-paris pon kene tuka train macam 5 kali, tuka quai lagi, naik tangga turun tangga, bawak bag 20 kg lagi, bawah bag laptop lagi, bawak hand luggage lagi. Licin² tgh snow lagi.

Last time kat Msia naik kommuter rase…..asal kite tak gerak² wei?

I think I’ll miss the trains here.
