stuck in louis vuitton hell

let me just start by saying that i am not all that with designer stuff. i grew up in freakin' kluang. the height of ah lian-ness. even now, bags are really just bags even if it comes with a double C or monogrammed. okay, i'll admit that they're really pretty. and sometimes when you touch them you kind of go to haute couture heaven.

but that's about it.

anyway, i was supposed to buy an LV bag for cekpah. so i thought, easy kan. whole summer, every time you go to LV you get the bag. no problem. only suddenly the day before my flight i go and :

a. you have to queue outside the champs elysées store. and they don't let you in after 6 pm.

b. even when i rush to galérie lafayette, the lady there says, "let me put it this way, there is not one speedy in the whole of paris right now."

huh?

turns out, LV bags tengah pupus at the moment. this is october, autumn. normally there aren't that many tourists but suddenly, it's like paris in july, so Lv had this huge problem of production : too much demand and no supply. in my mission to obtain a speedy in these dire times, i've catalogued some knowledge to share with everyone :

1. one passport equals one bag and one purse for a period of 3 months. (this is recent, in light of the production crisis)

2. LV receives shipment 2 times a day but they have no idea what bags are being delivered.

3. they don't sell the exhibition model. unless it's a previous exhibition model and if you buy that it's non remboursable, non exchangeable.

4. your best bet of getting either a speedy or a neverfull is getting to a shop between 10 am-11 am, sachant que the store opens at 10.

5. all tourists go to champs elysées. so, it would probably be better if you go to avenue montaigne, which is 10 minutes walk, perpendicular to avenue champs elysées. it's smaller but no queues and less people wants what you want.

6. if by any chance you dah terguna yourpassport to buy a bag for someone else, use your titre de sejour, ça passe. anyway, we have that thing where we can use/not use bin/binti in our name. it's quite useful actually - it's like we're two different people.

beat the queues : fine, i've been to the LV stores like 5 times these past 2 weeks. anyway, i buat cerita sedih (a partly true cerita sedih) that i postponed my flight yada yada yada just to get the bag. and the lady passed me this card so i can show at the door at champs elysées - x payah queue. it is like having a fast-pass. so awesome.

since i coudn't use my passport, i dragged whatever unfortunate guy who was hanging about paris with nothing to do. fairuz, zayd. dahlah everytime pon pegi avenue montaigne bawak laki laen.

i finally met the myth : perempuan from china yang diri mcm org gila kat champs elysées suro belikan bag LV. she was freakin' creepy. although fairuz did say, syikin, ko jangan ckp camtu, ko pun sikit lagi agaknye jadi mcm dia.

but finally succeeded!!
