malaysia's footie boys done good!!
honestly, i have maybe never watched local football but because of the hype on twitter i flipped through the channels yesterday.
holy shit, we're a decent team! seriously. to be reckoned with. i think it's awesome that so many things have improved, not just on a technical level but on team spirit. it was awe inspiring to see so many malaysians united and coming together on national pride. nothing brings people together lika football :)
on the other hand, i think that indonesia were a good team as well. and i especially applaud their fans for their sportsmanship last night. i think a bigger issue from this is the horror that is the Indon-Malaysia relation.
The Twitter wars before the game was so brutal. Indonesia has 240 million in population versus Malaysia's 28 million inhabitants. Nak lawan ape, kenelah lawan bola je.
I just wanted to punch Malaysian rempit morons who were using laser during the game. Because of them this victory is a bit hollow, and I do think that outsiders respect Malaysia less for this, a smidgen of stupid people with no sense of sportsmanship.
But I still think Malaysia were the better team. Maybe next time though, we should do something to raise awareness for the fans. Civic studies for fans or something because there are just some people who can't figure things out for themselves and must be government-brainwashed on how to do things.
I can just see it, next time there's a tournement kene ade advertisement : LASER MEMUSNAHKAN SEMANGAT KESUKANAN.
I hope the boys keep this up and not let celebrity and fame go to their heads. This is the usual case for Malaysians, naik sikit dah lupa diri. But I think as a society, Malaysians have evolved, slowly but surely, so i hope perangai tu dah dikikis. Hope so, because i wanna see more good football.
