Well, I've rolled off my first project at work - it's been about 10 months since I started working and it's been a good experience so far.
Granted, there were days when you really can't wait to roll-off. Or quit. Everyone yells at you and sometimes you get yelled at for things that aren't your fault (admit it though, most of the time it's always your screw up so shut up and take it like a trooper). But perseverence has always been the key to my successes. Relative success then. The thought that whatever happens today, tomorrow is a new day. New shit will come but yesterday's shit cannot stay there indefinitely.
Haha. Isn't it great how optimistic I always am :D
Actually, I had a comparatively easy role, but that's not to say that I didn't learn alot. I think your first role always teaches you alot. Your first boss teaches you alot. On how things work, how to behave professionally, how to motivate yourself, how to push, how to deal with people and how to manage situations etc. I could throw a lot of jargons in but I think that I had a really good first year.
I'm not great at a lot of things but I know my strengths and I try not to emphasize my weaknesses.
Good work life balance and I really enjoy the people in the firm. While this may not be true in the future, I hope I'll be able to try to enjoy work and life in parallel and not let the stress get to me.
I'm very thankful for the people I've worked with. I find that people are always willing to help guide you whenever they can as long as you're willing to give back and work hard and I think that's a very nurturing environment to work in. And I've managed to develop relationships with people that have really kept me sane, they have become a sort of support group. Pros and cons there LOL since I'm like the butt of all the jokes (as usual...it's because I'm the only girl and they find my bimbo-ness so amusing)
One day I might hate this company because of many things, but I'll look back and think of the great things I've learned from these awesome people.
Appreciation is one of those things you should show, or mark and remember.
